I'm a self-proclaimed Entourage scholar, partially because I'm a 'frustrated' talent agent. Anyway, I do find Entourage is one of the best written shows in TV: The story lines and characters are tremendously appealing and engaging -at least to me!
As a girl myself, some of my favorite plots are the ones involving the female cast: from Sloan to Mrs. Ari, Dana Gordon or Amanda Daniels. When Doug Ellin, the show head writer, was asked about the "Entourage girls', Ellin stressed the fact that he wanted to portray them as the personification of 'cool.' So, they are female characters written by men. Aside from the fact that they all are gorgeous and either millionaires or top-notch executives -did I say they were 'written' by men?- I just love how they all manage to confront their men without losing the manners or the cool.
Gorgeous, and daughter of mighty Terrance, Sloan is the girl you want to be: cool and sensitive, stylish and assertive, fun and naif. Her only flaw? Well, the whole 'threesome thing' with her boyfriend and her best female friend was just the worst idea ever...Her best line? 'Oh, I'll talk, but I wouldn't expect much more!' (To Eric on their way to Napa, when he asked her if she was not going to talk to him during the entire weekend, after finding out about his little lie).
It takes a lot to be married to Ari, and it takes a lot to also leave him. I definitely couldn't be in that kind of relationship but it's great to see the couple dynamic on the show. One of my favorite moments is when she tells him that she wouldn't be comfortable if Ari gets to work with Dana Gordon -his ex fling. In an honest relationship you would be able to be open about your fears, right?
Probably the most adorable studio suit in town. She lost her VP job at Warner because of Ari's big mouth, then, Mr. Gold got her Tinseltown's's most coveted position: Studio head! One of my most memorable Dana's moments? When she breaks Smokey Jumpers' bad news to Ari: "He said, and I quote: 'that's why I hire women to b*** me and not to run my studio', (...) meaning he's shutting down the movie and i might have to b*** him to keep my job."
best Entourage moments ever!
So, are you guys into Entourage as much as I am? How about the female cast? Any favorite?
